Help Your Child Learn The Most Precious Skill on Earth

Motivation
Your decision to help your child build a project portfolio could be one of the most important decisions you will ever make for them. Help motivate them to take action in your community and watch them transform into a leader that has a glowing advantage in life.

Take An Active Role
Don't expect your child to just go out and take action, you may need to help them along their journey. No matter what age your child is (5 or 15), you need to take an active role in their projects. The most important part is to 'guide' them, not do it for them. You should be there to help keep them accountable and be sure to let them know how important their community projects are to their future. You can do this by participating in your own PBLT projects as an adult or by simply being an "assistant" in your child's project.

The Most Precious Skill On Earth
Of all of the lessons that your child will learn while growing up, there is no lesson that will take them further in life than the art of leadership. There is no better method for teaching leadership than by helping your child get involved in projects in your community that will place them in a leadership role. The experiences that they will learn as they build their Project Portfolio will be forged into their memories forever. They will be able to draw from those experiences later in life when they have another opportunity to lead a team to success.

You Can't Do It For Them
As hard as it is sometimes, you won't be able to teach them leadership. They can only learn leadership through taking action and earning those experiences. Too often we try and "Teach Leadership" when instead we should be helping them learn "How To Lead".

Setting Your Child Up For A Lifetime Of Success
Whatever path your child chooses in life, Leadership traits and skills will play a key role in their success. The more experience they can gain early on, the better off they will be later in life.

Investing In Their Future
For only $10/mo, your child can begin to build and record a professional Project Portfolio that they can use for college and/or to get a great job, build relationships in your community, as well as assist them in practicing the art of leadership with their peers by helping to improve the world around us, one community project at a time.

Community Service and Activism
You can help your child understand the importance of helping others through acts of kindness, community projects, and service to others. The best way to teach these lessons is through your own positive action and leading by example. As a family, you can start a project to help others around you, make someone else's day by doing something selfless and kind, or start a project that can make a huge difference in your community and allow your child to take an active role in it. The possibilities are endless and the bottom line is, we are always teaching because our children are always watching and learning. Don't miss these moments that occur everyday to educate your child on the important things in life. In truth, they won't miss those moments to learn so be sure that in those moments of learning, they are absorbing positive, healthy, beneficial lessons and traits that will take them exceedingly far in life.

Rules...(or Guidelines) For You To Engage In A PBLT Project
  1. Every project must require the participant to involve one or more people in the endeavor.
  2. Every project must require some kind of benefit to something or someone in the community.

  4. The initial project shouldn’t be a complicated one –and ought to involve no more than an hour or two of work (1-2 months for the first project and shouldn't take any more than 3-4 months between projects after that).
  5. Every project is to be documented in your NLT team's Project Portfolio.

"Clara's experience with the Leadership Quest Program has been very positive. Although we can see some very positive changes in many ways, there was one incident that spoke volumes to us; we had spoken to Clara's current teacher during open house and she was telling us how much Clara participates in class and raises her hand all the time. Until she set that goal, every teacher prior had told us how quiet and reserved she was!"

- Tami Schroeder
(Clara's Mother)

"...Its been amazing to watch our youngest daughter transform from a shy 5 year-old to a confident 9 year old. She has experienced the satisfaction that comes with overcoming one's fears to achieve your goals.
We have also witnessed a remarkable level of focus and determination in our older daughter. She has become goal oriented and has worked very hard for her multiple achievements...
We are very pleased with the [NLT] Leadership Program. Not only does Mr. Engels teach the skills needed to advance in martial arts, through this website and this program, he is helping to mold our children into responsible citizens. His leadership program focuses on the development of positive character traits through lessons involving goal-setting and community service projects... The Leadership Program comes highly recommended by all members of the Raykovich family!"
